The adventure began. Today was the first leg, and we dropped the van off in Penzance before cycling to Land’s End. That’s where the real challenge started, with the first stage taking us to Truro.

Route Map – Penzance to Land’s End to Truro

What a fantastic day for cycling! Beautiful sunshine but not too hot. Even while dropping off the van at the hire depot, we met others who were also here to do LEJOG. Fueled by a full English breakfast, we set off towards Land’s End. On the way, we stopped by the Penzance Salvation Army hall.

Reaching the iconic Land’s End, we took loads of photos at the famous signpost and crossed the official start line, ready to tackle nearly 1,000 miles to JO’G.

Next, we returned to the esplanade at Penzance, soaked up the sunshine while having lunch, and had a bizarre chat with a guy our age who was dancing on roller skates to Michael Jackson! Then, we headed across the country to Truro, where we’re spending the night with Pete’s friends and watching the Eurovision Song Contest.
